Protect The Wild Life Habitat

Let us protect our wildlife habitats such as forest, rivers, coral reefs and mangroves.

-conserve and restore our habitats,Malaysia has national and states parks but thier status must be constantly guarged.Be alert to any changes of policy. You can also lobby for more areas to be set aside as natural habitats.

-Educate yourself.learn about our treatened species.Find out all you can about endangered plants and animals in Malaysia. And teach your children to appreciate it.

-Look out for wildlife.Support promotions for conservation of wildlife.Natures groups like World Wide Fund for Nature and the Malaysian Nature Society have programmes to save wildlife.Thier scientists are doing good work to reveal the many secrets of our rich natural heritage.

-Support local conservation efforts.when you take on an ecotourism package, choose those that directly benefit the local community

-Support corporate citizens who care about wildlife.Corporate citizens who value our wildlife help by providing the funds to study and protect seleted species.sometimes ,they also provide the space where wildlife can flourish.tenaga National's power plant in Kapar, for example, has been transformed into a haven for many migratory birds.

-Lobby to make a different.from your local councillor to your Member of parliament, make your views known to them on the importance of sustainable development and the rights of our wildlife.

- Leave only footprints. You don's simply throw water bottles and instant noodle wrappers in your friend's house or take a "souvenir" when you leave.Same rules apply when you are in environmentally-sensitive areas like state and national parks.

-look after the land.Always take care not to pollute the land you look after,or indeed any land.Don't dispose of any toxic chemicals improperly.wildlife can stray into our urban neighbourhoods too.

-Respect the trees.trees in our neighbourhoods are dependable element in our landscape. They can also offer safe haven for a wide variety of birds and small mammals.Plant a wide variety of native trees to encourage these animals to trive.

-Let them bloom.Everyone loves apretty plant but be aware when buying them-they could have been illegally harvested from the wild.Buy plants only from a nursery which grows them.

-Respect the corals.Do not step on the coral reefs when you go snokelling or driving. You'll kill the coral polyps.

Stop marine pollution.Ensure rubbish is properlly disposed of.Plastic bags floating in the ocean are often mistaken for food by turtles and when eaten, may cause turtle's death.

-Catch and release.many freshwater fishers in our Malaysian rivers are treatened. When you go fishing, pratise and catch-and-release policy.Trow back fish that are too small and be careful not to lose your lines, hooks, sinkers and net in the water. To be continue.........

How To Conserve Our Wildlife

Malaysia is one of those countries blessed with tropical rainforest, highlands, seas and freshwater ecosystem. This ecosystem help to support a rich and diverse aray of both flora and fauna species. The species are meant to be wild and free but over the generations, development has taken its toll.habitat loss, pollution and trade in wildlife are some of the reasons for the diminishing number of species on the land,in the air,and in the river and seas.We need to creatye a world of our future generations where oran utans, tigers, elephants, gibbons, pangolins, low lorises, turtles, hornbills and toman exist safely in the wild, rather than just in zoos, museums or TV documentaries. You can do your part to first for the future and prevent whole ecosystem from being destroyed. You can ensure the survival of our rare, endangered and totally protected animals.
